In my understanding of it, sensitivity to things spiritual is distributed in a typical bell-shaped curve. The majority of people have some sense of spirit presence and will have an occasional paranormal or supernatural experience. These events are frequent enough and strong enough to point them to faith in God and belief in life after death. But on one side of the majority we have those who have frequent and powerful experiences with the paranormal almost on a daily bases. In this blog we have called them “hypersensitives” in order to avoid the connotations of labels like “psychic”. On the other side of the majority, we find folk who have never experienced a paranormal event, or sensed a spirit presence during their entire life history. For the sake of consistency, I will call these people “hyposensitives” because their level of sensitivity to the spirit world is far different from the majority of people and certainly drastically different from hypersensitives.
