Exorcism or Deliverance Part 1

Introduction

In the next few posts, I discussed some of the more important differences between exorcism and Christian deliverance ministry. Before I begin, however, I want to caution my readers about two extreme philosophical positions that lead to serious error in dealing with this topic. The first position is that all diseases and abnormal behaviors are caused by a Type D or N spirit. This type of position can lead to the error of seeing a demon behind every tree and bush. It gives too much power and glory to the demonic as witnessed by the numerous movies and television programs about demons and exorcism. The second type of extreme position denies the involvement of the supernatural totally. One finds this type of error in naturalism and humanism. This position rejects the spiritual side of humanity. Extreme positions should be avoided when it comes to either exorcism or a deliverance ministry. There very significant differences between exorcism and deliverance. Find out what they are in my book:
